Their vision is dedicated to nurturing and expanding the presence of Soca music within Japan, fostering both cultural exchange and industry growth. At the heart of Soca in Japan is the annual Japan Soca Weekend, recognized as the largest Soca festival not only in Japan but across all of Asia. Held every September, this festival serves as a magnetic gathering point where fans of Caribbean culture and Soca music from diverse corners of the globe, including Japan, converge to celebrate and enjoy the vibrant sounds of Soca.

A lively parade featuring participants in colorful, traditional carnival costumes adorned with feathers, beads, and sequins. The parade often includes dance troupes, masquerade bands, and music floats playing soca, calypso, and reggae.
Caribbean music genres like reggae, dancehall, soca, and calypso are performed live by local and international artists. The energy of the performances encourages the audience to dance and sing along.
Food vendors serve a variety of Caribbean dishes such as jerk chicken, curried goat, rice and peas, and plantains. Tropical drinks like rum punch and sorrel are also popular offerings, giving attendees a taste of authentic island flavors.
This early-morning street celebration (starting before dawn) is rooted in Caribbean traditions. Participants cover themselves in paint, powder, or mud and dance to steelpan and soca music, marking the unofficial start of the carnival.

The grand finale of Japan Soca Weekend, Japan Caribbean Carnival is inspired by Trinidad and Miami Carnival with a unique Japanese twist, featuring a costumed parade with a live music truck, a Culture Village with Caribbean and Japanese food, vendors, and cultural performances. Free shuttle buses run from Shinagawa Station in central Tokyo for registered participants.
