What is Bermuda Carnival?

Carnival in Bermuda is a vibrant and dynamic celebration of culture, music, and unity held annually in Bermuda. Formerly known as Bermuda Heroes Weekend, the event has since expanded from a long weekend into a full, action-packed week, growing into an even bigger showcase of the rich heritage and traditions of the island. This multi-day event features a diverse array of festivities that highlight everything that makes Bermudian culture so special, from music and dance to food and community pride. At its core, the celebration also pays tribute to the island’s national heroes, honoring their contributions to Bermudian society and fostering a sense of pride and unity among everyone who takes part.

One of the highlights of the carnival is Revel de Road, the colorful grand parade where masqueraders adorned in elaborate costumes dance through the streets to the pulsating rhythms of soca, calypso, and other Caribbean beats. Spectators line the streets to witness the spectacle and join in the revelry, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie that captures the true spirit of the island. What started as a single weekend celebration has grown into one of Bermuda’s most anticipated annual events, bringing together locals and visitors from all walks of life to celebrate the very best of Bermudian culture, heritage, and hospitality on a bigger scale than ever before.

Expect non-stop energy from the moment Carnival kicks off.
