J'ouvert morning precedes the carnival parade and takes place in the early hours on the streets, offering a spirited alternative to participating in costumed bands. Unlike the Parade of the Bands, J'ouvert embraces a more casual atmosphere, with participants donning t-shirts, shorts, and sneakers instead of elaborate costumes.
This competition highlights grand, elaborate costumes that display each band’s creativity and craftsmanship. Winners earn the prestigious Carnival King and Queen titles, with their designs showcased prominently during the main parade.
The Mardi Gras Parade of the Bands is the grand finale of Vincy Mas, led by music trucks blasting soca and calypso beats. Bands dazzle the crowd with unique costumes, choreographed performances, and vibrant sections, concluding the carnival in spectacular style.

Vincy Mas returns for its historic 50th anniversary celebration with calypso and soca competitions, pageants, J’Ouvert, street parties and colourful masquerade parades.
